FISHINN Study Visit in Bilbao

On 19th March 2024, the FISHINN project will organise a Study Visit in Bilbao, led by its coordinator, Leartibai Fundazioa. Taking place during the World Maritime Week at the BEC – Bilbao Exhibition Centre, this event will highlight key themes in blue economy innovation and sustainability.

The programme will feature a workshop led by the Bizkaia Provincial Council, focusing on regional initiatives supporting sustainable maritime development.

In the afternoon, participants will visit Bilbao PortLab, a key centre for maritime innovation. The session will feature a presentation by Nagore Ardanza, followed by good practice presentations from pioneering companies such as ROSEO, Landatu Solar, and Ocean Ecostructures, showcasing innovative solutions for a more sustainable blue economy.

The Study Visit will also include a session on transnational projects, featuring discussions on the SMARTDEC and FISHINN projects and addressing challenges related to maritime decarbonisation and port innovation.

The event will conclude with a guided visit to the Port of Bilbao, providing insights into sustainable port initiatives and infrastructure shaping the future of the maritime industry.
